Learn Mexican Spanish free
Which Spanish (Mexico) is this?
This is Mexican Spanish (es-MX), the variety most learners in the Americas actually need: ustedes instead of vosotros, seseo (c and z sound like s), and words you will hear in Mexico City, Guadalajara, or on Mexican film and music. It is a separate live course from Spain Spanish — not a toggle hidden in settings.
Who it is for
Choose this course if you live in or travel through Mexico and much of Latin America, work with Mexican colleagues, or you learned “textbook Spanish” and want the Spanish people around you actually speak. Spain’s theta and vosotros are the other course; both stay free to start.
How HyperLingua teaches Spanish (Mexico)
HyperLingua does not begin with the preterite chart. You practise full lines with Mexican native audio: shadow the sentence, then recall it from your language. Islands cover greetings, food, getting around, and work small-talk — the conversations you have in the first month. Mnemonics carry the vocabulary load so you are not stuck on articles for six weeks.
The same loop on every course: shadowing, active recall, vocabulary first, and language islands.
Pronunciation
Mexican Spanish keeps the s in cielo and zapato. The main ear-training jobs are the tapped r, the contrast between b/v in spelling vs speech, and the faster, more syllable-timed delivery than English. Shadowing Mexican audio trains that timing; mimicking Spain audio will pull you toward a different accent on purpose.
Example sentences
