    Which English is this?

This course is American English (en-US): US vocabulary, spelling (color, traveling), and General American pronunciation. It is a separate live course from English (UK). If you need British English for work or travel, use that page — mixing the two on purpose is how people sound unplaced.

    Who it is for

Adults whose first language is not English and who need to speak at work, in the US, or online. It is also for people who can read English and still cannot answer a simple question without translating word-by-word. This is production practice, not a spelling bee.

    How HyperLingua teaches English

You hear native US English, shadow the full sentence, then recall it from your language. Islands cover introductions, work, travel, and everyday requests. Grammar is in the sentences. We do not start with twelve tenses on a whiteboard.

The same loop on every course: shadowing, active recall, vocabulary first, and language islands.

    Pronunciation

The American r, the vowel in bad vs bed, flap t (water), and reductions (gonna, wanna in speech) are why “I learned English at school” still sounds foreign. Shadowing US audio trains the reductions; over-enunciating every letter is not how Americans talk.
