Which Polish is this?
This course is contemporary Polish (pl-PL): the standard used in national media, schools, and most of Poland. Regional accents exist; the audio follows the educated Warsaw-influenced norm learners expect in apps and classrooms, not a single village dialect.
Who it is for
People moving to or visiting Poland, family and partners, learners curious about a major Slavic language, and anyone who tried Polish from a grammar book and still cannot order coffee. Beginners welcome. If you understand more Polish than you can say, recall practice closes the gap.
How HyperLingua teaches Polish
Polish cases and aspect look brutal on a chart and manageable on a sentence you need. You hear native audio, shadow the full line, then recall it from your language. Islands cover greetings, food, travel, and work — the talk you have in month one. We do not open with a seven-case declension wall before you speak.
The same loop on every course: shadowing, active recall, vocabulary first, and language islands.
Pronunciation
Nasal vowels (ą, ę), the retroflex sz/ś/ć/ń/ź/ż family, and stress that usually falls on the penultimate syllable are why spelling alone will not save you. Shadowing Polish audio trains the rhythm and the consonant contrasts; reading without audio is how English speakers stay stuck on “sh” for everything.
